Austin Drunk Driving Accident Lawyer- This past Tuesday, the Austin Police Department officially identified a driver who was killed after having been struck by another driver at a four-way stop in the city of North Austin that resulted in an arrest on charges of drunk driving.

24-year-old Christian Ramos was driving a gray 2013 Mazda CX-9 when he is reported to have failed to yield along the 3700 block of North Interstate 35 northbound service road on Saturday just before 1:15 A.M. According to the investigation by police, 41-year-old Khairullah Danish was driving eastbound on 38 ½ Street in a black 2009 Toyota Corolla before coming to a traffic signal that was flashing red in all directions. Danish, according to the investigation, came to a complete stop prior to proceeding through the intersection before being struck by Ramos.

Medics were called to the scene following the tragic incident, where they administered life-saving measures to Danish in an attempt to try and save his life. Despite their best efforts, Danish was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. A further investigation revealed that Ramos was intoxicated at the time of the incident and was later placed under arrest on a charge of intoxication manslaughter due to his involvement and role in the incident that resulted in Danish’s death. According to police, his bond was set at $100,000.

The early Saturday morning incident is reported to be the first fatal traffic crash in the city of Austin of the year. Back in 2020, the Austin Police Department noted that there were a total of three traffic fatalities.

Since the incident occurred early this past Saturday morning, a GoFundMe page has been established in order to help with covering Danish’s funeral costs, as well as to help Danish’s family with anything else that they may need, as the page notes that Danish himself was their sole provider. According to the page, Danish was originally from Afghanistan and was the father to a total of seven children.

The GoFundMe page further notes that Danish was the sole provider for his family, having driven for both Uber and Lyft after having previously served as an interpreter and translator for coalition forces in his native country of Afghanistan. Danish’s widow, in the meantime, is a homemaker who stays home to care for their children and also speaks no English.

The following is a quote from the GoFundMe page:

“Sad news, hopeless situation for Khairullah Danish family who was the only income source for his family of seven kids and a jobless household wife with zero English speaking skills. He was Ridesharing (Uber and Lyft) driver. He came to United States four years ago while he was working with coalition forces as interpreter/translator in Afghanistan. He came with the hope of better life for his family. Unfortunately, he lost his life in a car accident last night on January 9, 2021. We ask for help to cover his funeral ceremony expenses and for his hopeless survive [sic] family members currently with no income source. Please contribute as much as you can.”

Currently, the GoFundMe page has raised a total of over $86,000 with approximately 1,500 donors and a goal of $100,000. The previous goal had been $50,000.
